Dr. Amjad Barham

Dr. Amjad Barham

Minister of Education and Higher Education
Dr. Amjad Barham holds a PhD degree in Applied Mathematics from Rajasthan University, India. He has a master degree in Applied Mathematics and a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics and Physics. Presently, Dr. Barham serves as the Minister of Education and Higher Education in the Palestinian government. Prior to that, he held various pivotal administrative positions, culminating in his presidency of Palestine Polytechnic University from 2021 to 2024. Dr. Barham has a wealth of academic achievements as an associate professor in Applied Mathematics. Beyond academia, he has made significant contributions to the governance of education in Palestine and led leadership roles within the Palestinian Federation of Unions of University Professors and Employees, where he served as chairman from 2006 to 2021.
Dr. Bara Asfour

Dr. Bara Asfour

Acting President, Arab American University
Dr. Bara Asfour currently serves as the Acting President of the Arab American University (AAUP). He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering and an MBA from New York University, where he also contributed to academic research and teaching. He earned his Ph.D. in Business from Indiana University of Pennsylvania through a joint program with AAUP. Since joining AAUP in 2015, Dr. Asfour has played a central role in the university’s development and institutional growth. Throughout his career, he has held several key leadership positions, including Technology Consultant for various economic institutions, Assistant Dean of Admissions and Registration, Assistant to the President for Administrative and Financial Affairs, and Vice President for Administrative and Financial Affairs.
Dr. Eng. Islam Amro

Dr. Eng. Islam Amro

Associate Professor of Computer Engineering and Dean of the Faculty of Modern Sciences, Arab American University
Dr. Eng. Islam Amro is an Associate Professor of Computer Engineering at the Arab American University and serves as the Dean of the Faculty of Modern Sciences, Dr. Amro's career spans academia, Regulation, public policy advising, and private sector business development, Artificial Intelligence in Industry, and cybersecurity strategy. Notably, He is an advisor for the Palestinian Monitory Authority on Cybersecurity for Banking Sector, in Addition, he authored the National Palestine Strategy for Cybersecurity United Nations
